License Marriage & Family Therapist Psychotherapist, Evidence Based Practices.
I invite you to make an appointment to discuss what you would like to work on, heal from, learn about, share, or perhaps discuss a new healthier path for yourself. I provide consultations for recommendations and information in addition to Brief and Long Term Therapy. Support provided for the loss of pets and human loved ones. A place to heal from trauma related to various events, situations, and illnesses. Assistance for emotional well-being. Aromatherapy included in sessions upon request. I utilize various approaches (Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Positive Psychology, Cognitive, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Neuro Science informed), however, I rely on client's feedback and collaboration regarding what they are seeking. For example, some clients want to use sessions to share and to explore feelings, some clients want techniques/interventions. It is helpful if clients come into sessions with something in mind that they would like to focus on during sessions, if not I do my best to navigate sessions in the direction I think will be helpful for the clients needs and goals.
I am certified in Parent Child Psychotherapy, which is an attachment theory focused, relational approach relevant to working with adults as well as with parenting situations; an Evidence Based Practice. I am also certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing); an innovative approach for Trauma and other distressing issues. I am in training with the Parnell Institute for EMDR. As a Marriage and Family therapist, I am trained to work with all types of family dynamics and relationship issues, however, I am currently only working with individuals. Although I worked with couples, families and children in the past, I am currently only working with individuals.
